Florence Pugh stomps the SAG strike picket line in white crochet mini dress

Alongside her reputation as a standout actress and fashion icon, Florence Pugh is known for being outspoken. Remember the totally transparent hot pink tulle gown she wore to Valentino's AW23 fashion show? While we thought she killed it with her lewk, Flo's dress choice sparked a full-on social media backlash due to her "free the nipple" moment. In typical Florence style though, she took it all in her stride – responding with a classy AF Instagram post that told the haters *exactly* where to go. Snaps for a confident kween.
So it was no surprise to see the Oppenheimer actress join the SAG-AFTRA strikes and take to the picket line yesterday. Flo's sign obvs got attention (she had written, "Grrrrrrr!!! THIS IS BULLSHIT!" but we need to take a minute to talk about her 'fit which consisted of a white crochet off-the-shoulder mini dress.
In case you're not aware, the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists unions and its members are currently striking over pay disputes with many of the major TV and Film studios. As a result, we've seen many of our favourite actors pounding the pavement with hand-written protest signs in hand.
Flo made sure to dress for the occasion by merging comfort and style and donning a pair of fashion trainers on her feet, ideal for racking up those steps. The chunky soled sneakers contrasted with the overt femininity of her off-the-shoulder dress that featured see-through crochet panels throughout the design as well as an overlay at the bust. The 'fit is giving tablecloth in the *best* way.
Other celebs we've seen on the picket line over the past few weeks include Hilary Duff. The former Disney channel star joined her How I Met Your Father co-stars. Hilary also got the comfort-memo, wearing gym wear for the occasion. She did a fashion edge though, adding a chic oversized woven sun hat, cat-eye sunglasses and XL hoop earrings to her vest, athletic shorts, trainers and crossbody bag ensemble.
Similarly, Jameela Jamil opted for a summer dress. Her black mini was decorated with a super cute red floral print, while red heart-shaped sunglasses added a fun touch. Her black heeled ankle boots were made for pounding that pavement.
Protest fashion is by no means a new concept, it was in fact the basis for Vivienne Westwood's design career. We're loving seeing how our fave stars interpret the brief – chunky trainers and a tablecloth dress according to Florence. Yep, that's a lewk we can get behind.
