People weren't pleased with their age gap.

Florence Pugh and Zach Braff drew many a critical eye when they were dating, and the Don't Worry Darling actress is finally addressing the scrutiny.

It's inevitable, really, when your relationship is in the public eye—especially when it involves a large age gap (Pugh is 27 and Braff, 47)—but the pair were relatively quiet when they were together, barely ever even sharing an Instagram photo together.

While speaking with Vogue for its winter cover shoot, Pugh opened up about the several-year-long relationship, which ended sometime last year, and the pressure that came with being in it. "My breakup has been very new, so I’m figuring that out,” she told the publication, before reflecting on their time together.

The two met through friends, becoming closer when she was cast in a short film he was working on for Adobe. They eventually settled into a seemingly stable, completely out-of-our-face relationship, but people couldn't help their unwarranted criticism and advice. Vogue noted it was clear that the "nasty experience" had stuck with her—an unfortunate result of being a public figure.

“We weren’t in anyone’s faces. It was just that people didn’t like it,” she said of the response. “They imagined me with someone younger and someone in blockbusters. I think young relationships in Hollywood are so easily twisted because they add to the gossip sites. It’s exciting to watch. And I think I was in a relationship that didn’t do any of that,” she further mused.

Let this be a lesson that sometimes there really is no tea, and there's no need to ruin somebody's sense of well-being in order to "spill it."
