Florence Pugh is finally giving fans the lowdown about her dramatic hair transformation!

The Oppenheimer actress debuted a freshly buzzed cut at this year's Met Gala, shocking us all when she showed up with a close-cropped black style in place of her previously long blonde bob.

In a new interview with Radio Times, per Page Six, the Don't Worry Darling star shared that by shaving her head, she was removing "vanity" from her appearance and taking control of her own image.

“I purposefully chose to look like that. I wanted vanity out of the picture,” she specified, noting that “Hollywood is very glamorous” and she was finding that it was “hard for an audience to see past that.”

She continued, “Whenever I’ve not needed to be glam or have a full face of makeup, I fight to keep it that way. It helps the audience.”

Without that vanity, Pugh said that "the only thing that people can look at then is your raw face.”

She's not the only one to debut a brand-new look of late. Zoë Saldaña recently chopped off several inches of her previously lengthy locks, resulting in what her hairstylist, Mara Roszak, called "a MAJOR summertime Frenchie Bob chop."

The Avatar actress showed off the new do in a video interview with the BBC, where she chatted about her upcoming, espionage-filled series Special Ops: Lioness, which also stars Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman, the latter of whom had to miss part of the press tour after coming down with an unidentified illness.
