Surrounded by a gorgeous lake and lush mountains, the floating cabins at this Washington resort offer the best kind of summer getaway if you love the great outdoors.

Tucked away in North Cascades National Park, the Ross Lake Resort was built in 1950. It features a line of 12 individual cabins and three bunkhouses built on log floats situated on the west side of Ross Lake. A truly remote oasis, no roads lead to the resort. To get there, you can either hike or take a ferry.

All the cabins are fully furnished, and they have electricity and running water. You can choose from four cabin styles, depending on the number of people in your party. The modern cabin, which accommodates up to five people, has large picture windows and a spacious combined dining-living room. For smaller parties, the little cabin sleeps up to four people. Traveling with a larger group? The private bunkhouse accommodates up to 10 people, and the two-story peak cabin can sleep up to nine.

The best part of every cabin? The deck with chairs overlooking the lake and the lush mountains. TikTok user @potatobrad posted a short video of the view from one of the cabin's decks, and the view is mesmerizing.

While the resort is fully booked for the rest of the year, you can still enjoy Ross Lake and some of the recreational activities the resort offers, including fishing, backpacking, tent camping, kayaking, and canoeing.
