Hardy took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce the collaboration to his 1.4 million followers. In a short video, the singer shows off the style and mentions he discovered the brand from a friend who was wearing Floafers while on they were playing golf. “I was like ‘what the hell are those?’ and he told me they were Floafers,” Hardy said in the video. “And I’ve been a fan ever since. Going forward, I will be releasing a couple styles with them every year.”

Larry Reines, chief executive officer of Floafers, said in a statement that he is “excited” to partner with the country star, who he describes as having “bold” personal style and “boundary pushing” music. “His love for the outdoors resonates deeply with our brand,” Reines said. “This collaboration is a testament to our commitment to innovation and our desire to explore new territories in footwear.”

“Joining forces with Hardy allows us to blend the worlds of country, rock and innovative footwear, offering our customers a unique capsule that’s as daring as it is refined,” David Giordano, chief marketing officer at Floafers added. “It’s a pivotal step in our journey to reposition Floafers and expand our reach.”

Indeed, it is a pivotal time for the five-year-old footwear brand as it looks to broaden its audience through new collaborations such as this one launching on Tuesday. The company has also had several new additions to its executive team in recent years.

Reines joined Floafers in February 2023 after longtime CEO Larry Paparo left the company. A footwear industry veteran, Reines spent several years at Sam Edelman where he helped implement strategic initiatives that helped position the label for acquisition by then Brown Shoe Company. Reines later worked with Nina Footwear to help double revenue, and served as a partner at Isa Tapia, where orchestrated a pivotal partnership with Pentland Group PLC.

Giordano came to Floafers in January after over two decades in the fashion industry. During his time in the business, he has worked three footwear brands including Sam Edelman, Pour La Victoire and Kelsi Dagger.

The brand’s new exclusive capsule with Hardy is now available on Floafers’ website and Zappos.com.
