The Flash is finally back to tie up loose ends. After season 6 was cut a few episodes short amid the coronavirus pandemic, the newest season of the CW superhero series will pick up right where fans left off.

"We do address last year’s cliffhanger," The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace told TV Line recently. "In the first few episodes we’ll be getting Iris [Candice Patton] out of the Mirrorverse, all those good things, and we will be wrapping up the Eva McCulloch [Efrat Dor] storyline — before launching into a brand-new graphic novel."

As fans get ready to welcome back their favorite DC Comics characters, many are already looking forward to season 8, which was renewed by the CW in February. So far, here are all the key details to know about season 8 of The Flash:

When does The Flash season 8 come out?

Right now, all we know is that there will definitely be a season 8 following the current season, which premieres Tuesday, March 2, 2021. That said, it's worth noting that every other season besides season 7 has premiered in early October. Though the coronavirus pandemic delayed the release of season 7, perhaps the show will get back to its normal schedule for the 2021-2022 TV season. We shall see!

Who will be in The Flash season 8 cast?

Of course, we'll know a lot more once we see what happens in season 7. But if things remain as they are now, fans can expect to see the following cast members reprise their roles:

  • Grant Gustin as Barry Allen

  • Candice Patton as Iris West

  • Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow

  • Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon

  • Jesse L. Martin as Joe West

  • Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells

  • Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton

How can I watch or stream The Flash?

If you have cable, The Flash season 7 will be available to enjoy on Tuesday nights starting March 2 at 8 p.m. ET on the CW. Otherwise, The Flash is available on Fubo TV, Youtube TV, Google Play, Apple TV+, Vudu, and AT&T TV.

Another option would be to watch on CWTV.com or download the CW app, which is compatible with most streaming devices.

If you're still catching up on The Flash, all six previous seasons are on Netflix. Just remember: American Netflix subscribers won't be able to catch season 7 until the entire season is done airing on the CW.
