This Flash Sale Has $99 Flights to Europe for Fall and Winter Travel — but You’ll Have to Book Soon
The Play sale ends on Nov. 3.
Low-cost Icelandic airline Play wants travelers to jet off to Europe for just $99 with a Halloween flash sale.
The scary-good deal must be booked by midnight ET on Nov. 3 and is available for travel from November through March 2024, the airline shared with Travel + Leisure. The sale can be booked directly on Play’s website.
“Following high travel demand in the summer, Play is offering a flash deal to continue this trend through the new year, providing U.S. travelers with affordable flights to their dream destinations,” Play’s CEO Birgir Jónsson told T+L. “Play’s unbeatable deal on flights to Europe’s most charming winter destinations will enable travelers to book themselves a trip to look forward to, making the colder and darker months go by faster and helping get over the hustle and bustle of the holidays."

The flash sale is available from Play’s gateways in the United States: Baltimore, Boston, New York’s Stewart International Airport, and Washington D.C. From there, travelers can fly to popular cities like Reykjavik, Paris, Copenhagen, London, Dublin, Berlin, Athens, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam.
The sale does have several blackout dates, but those vary by destination.
Play first launched in Europe in 2021 before finally coming to the U.S. with its first flight from Baltimore last year. The airline operates a "hub-and-spoke model" in which all flights connect through Reykjavik before heading on to other destinations in Europe or back to the U.S.
The low-cost carrier charges travelers per flight leg for everything from checked bags to food and drinks.
Jónsson said the airline’s model “offers convenient, reliable, and affordable flights so travelers can make memories of a lifetime by exploring new destinations and cultures."
Beyond the sale, shoulder season is also a great time to fly for travelers looking to score a deal on a European vacation. Trips to several popular cities are significantly discounted during that sweet spot, including Oslo, Stockholm, Ibiza, Madrid, and Dublin.
