Ah, Thanksgiving: the special time of year when you argue with your family over politics while feasting on pie, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and lots and lots of (necessary) wine. The only thing missing? A Flamin’ Hot Cheetos turkey!

The Thanksgiving recipe surfaced on local Memphis news station WMC Action News 5’s website, via Reynolds Kitchens. So you know it’s actually pretty legit. Though the idea of topping your Thanksgiving turkey with a spicy snack food might sound outrageous to some turkey purists, think about it. Why limit yourself to a classic roast turkey when you can go spicy instead? Hey, at least the fire will match the tone of your family arguments. And it’ll make your Thanksgiving Day downright epic.

People do like to mix it up occasionally at the Thanksgiving table. After all, isn’t that how we got the turducken? Ok, now that you’re on board, here’s what you do.

First, walk past the grocery aisles full of dwindling traditional Thanksgiving stock. Smirk condescendingly, knowing that sweet potatoes are for the unadventurous. Whisper to yourself, “I’m so fun,” as you pull a couple bags of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos off the shelf.

Next, take ’em home and crush ’em all up until you’re left with a bag of fine crumbs. Then, coat your turkey with butter or oil, and pat on the Cheetos crumbs evenly. Pop it in an oven-safe bag and cook as normal. Just a few hours later, you’ll be ready to enjoy that spicy bad boy. Check out the full Cheetos turkey recipe here.

Don’t forget to take photos of your relatives’ reactions upon seeing your flamin’ hot masterpiece.

While you’re at it, maybe go ahead and make the whole meal Cheetos-themed. Sprinkle crumbs over mac and cheese. Set Cheetos out as hors d’oeuvres. Anywhere cheese might go, Cheetos can go also.

Finally, look down upon what you have created from the Earth and proclaim that it is good. Happy Thanksgiving!
