EMS providers and their families, with fishing licenses, were able to take to Swarr Run, which was stocked with rainbow and golden trout.

Some of those were tagged for prizes.

“What’s important about today is Lancaster Medical Center is able to offer a time of joy and happiness for not just the providers who do ems work all year long, but also for the families,” Michael Reihart, director of emergency services at Penn State Health Lancaster, said. “Because we know without the families, we would never have such a successful EMS organization and providers.”

While Sunday’s derby and cookout ran until 4 p.m., the deadline to catch a tagged trout and claim a prize is May 25.
