Fisher-Price Recalls All Rock ’n Play Sleepers Again After Several More Baby Deaths Reported

The baby gear was originally recalled on April 12, 2019.

Fisher-Price has re-announced the recall of nearly 4.7 million Rock n' Play sleepers after more infant fatalities have occurred.

On Jan. 9, 2023, the brand issued the second recall, after the original notice about the unsafe nature of the baby gear was released to the public on April 12, 2019.

At the time of the first recall, over 30 fatalities were reported to have occurred in the Rock ‘n Play Sleepers after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.

"Since the recall, approximately 70 additional fatalities have been reported, which includes at least 8 fatalities that were reported to have occurred after the initial recall announcement. Approximately 100 deaths have reportedly occurred while infants were in the products," per the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The affected units were sold at large retailers nationwide including Walmart, Target, and online at Amazon, from September 2009 through April 2019, at a price point of around $40–$149.

Consumers who own the devices should stop using them immediately and contact Fisher-Price for a refund or voucher. The brand confirms the recall applies to all models of the Rock n' Play. It is illegal to sell or distribute the recalled sleepers.
