Update: HGTV announced in a press release that the second season of Windy City Rehab will be extended to include nine additional one-hour episodes that will air in late 2021. Season two, which premiered in September 2020, featured five 90-minute episodes that spotlighted the dissolution of Alison Victoria and Donovan Eckhardt's business partnership. In these new episodes, Victoria will return to flip homes solo. To learn more about these new episodes, you can head here.

Original article: Between a lawsuit and a falling out between costars, HGTV's original series Windy City Rehab has had its fair share of drama since premiering in January 2019. However, as Alison Victoria confirmed in June when she teased her other new series Flipping Across America, the Chicago home renovation series will return for a season two.

Starting Tuesday, September 15, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Windy City Rehab will return on HGTV with five new 90-minute episodes, according to a press release from the network. The series will continue to follow Victoria, a designer and home reno expert, as she transforms dated fixer-uppers, deals with permit delays, and fights stop work orders. The network also noted that Victoria "must manage a strained business relationship" during the new season. We have a hunch this refers to the designer's relationship with contractor and former costar Donovan Eckhardt.

While Eckhardt is seen in the very dramatic trailer above, he is not mentioned in HGTV's official statement about the show's second season, or seen in promotional images. As a source previously revealed to House Beautiful, the pair is no longer working together. It is unknown when these five episodes were filmed, but it is believed that he will no longer be involved with the show.

Victoria took to Instagram today to share the good news. She also said in a statement to HGTV that "Running a design and renovation business in Chicago is not for the faint of heart," and "it has tested me in more ways than I could have ever imagined." However, as she adds, "I love what I do and I’m determined to succeed."

From vintage fireplace mantles to antique mirrored closet doors to salvaged furniture pieces turned into bathroom vanities, Victoria will be working with some charming pieces next season and really tapping into her Chicago roots. I think it's safe to say that Windy City Rehab season two will (ahem) blow you away.
