For the First Time Ever, DoubleTree Has Shared the Recipe for Its Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Think back to your childhood: If you ever stayed at a DoubleTree by Hilton on a family trip, you likely remember the warm chocolate chip cookies. They’re pretty hard to forget, on account of being delicious, and what other hotel hands out free cookies? While we can’t book a room in the near future, DoubleTree just shared the recipe for those cookies publicly for the first time ever.

“We know this is an anxious time for everyone,” said Shawn McAteer, DoubleTree’s senior vice president and global head in a press release. “A warm chocolate chip cookie can’t solve everything, but it can bring a moment of comfort and happiness.” We and our waistline agree. And while copycat recipes exist all over the internet, this one is official.

So without further ado, here’s how to make the DoubleTree by Hilton chocolate chip cookies at home.

DoubleTree Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Makes 26 cookies

Ingredients:
2 sticks (8 ounces) butter, softened
¾ cup plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
¾ cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1¼ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
2¼ cups flour
½ cup rolled oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Pinch cinnamon
2⅔ cups Nestle Tollhouse semi-sweet chocolate chips
1¾ cups chopped walnuts

Directions:
1. Cream the butter, sugar and brown sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
2. Add the eggs, vanilla and lemon juice, blending with the mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to medium speed for about 2 minutes, or until light and fluffy, scraping down the bowl.
3. With the mixer on low speed, add the flour, oats, baking soda, salt and cinnamon, blending for about 45 seconds. Don’t overmix.
4. Remove the bowl from the mixer and stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
5. Portion the dough with a scoop (about 3 tablespoons) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper about 2 inches apart.
6. Preheat the oven to 300°F. Bake for 20 to 23 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft.
7. Remove from the oven and cool on the baking sheet for about 1 hour.
Note: You can freeze the unbaked cookies, and there’s no need to thaw. Preheat the oven to 300°F and place the frozen cookies on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have a date with our oven.
