Pablo Berger's Robot Dreams follows Dog, who lives in Manhattan and is tired of being alone. One day, he decides to build himself a robot, a companion. Their friendship blossoms until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of '80s NYC. One summer night, Dog, with great sadness, is forced to abandon Robot at the beach.

It's a short 60 seconds but packs in some stunning animation and fantastic world-building, with sound design doing much of the work for the lack of dialogue.

The film does have an extensive voice cast listed on IMDb, however, with seven names, including Ivan Labanda, Tito Trifol, Rafa Calvo, José García Tos, José Luis Mediavilla, Graciela Molina and Esther Solans.

Robot Dreams is based on the graphic novel by Sara Varon and produced by Sandra Tapia Días, Ignasi Estapé, Ibon Cormenzana, Ángel Durández and Pablo Berger.

It has been flying around the festival circuit since it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, but it is yet to have an official release date.
