First Rihanna, Now Rosalía Cosigns This DIY Label From L.A.

Rosalía has already made the fur coat a summer style statement, which is no small feat. Last month, she posted three Instagrams that showed off different colored Saks Potts pieces—one a tangerine orange, the other a snowy white, and the third a vibrant magenta—and now, Rosalía’s followed up this colorful triple punch with a faux fur number that she wore in Miami, of all places, despite the summer heat.

The white faux fur that she just debuted isn’t from a fashion girl favorite brand, though. Rosalía’s standout piece hits much closer to home: it’s a coat that her mother made for her from scratch. Doubling down on her commitment to homespun fashion, she wore the white faux fur with a pair of patchwork pants made by Los Angeles-based designer Julie Kucharski.

Kucharski heads up Left Hand L.A., a brand that bills itself as “the founding mothers of DIY fashion.” Kali Uchis, Swae Lee, and Rihanna have all sported one of Kucharski’s one-off pieces in the past, as has Rosalía—in May, she wore a white sweatsuit from the label, studded all over with little plastic flowers resembling children's hair clips. Rosalía might have her finger on the pulse when it comes to the trendiest outerwear labels, but she’s clearly just as knowledgeable when it comes to bespoke fashion, too.
