Is there a trailer?

Yep! Though, we suggest taking a deep breath before watching, because it's definitely intense. Unlike the initial teaser, which gave us a short glimpse of Queen Elizabeth portrayed through the different actresses from The Crown's previous five seasons, this trailer focuses more on Princess Diana and her life in the '90s. There were many scenes of paparazzi and press-teams swarming a seemingly overwhelmed Diana, as well as scenes of a distressed royal family at the public's unrelenting interest at the Princess' personal life. Assumably taking place in the months before her tragic death, the trailer ends with a voice over of Prince Charles' character making a bold claim: “This is going to be the biggest thing that any of us has ever seen.”

What will The Crown season 6 be about?

The Crown is known for portraying a fictional dramatization of the royal family starting with Queen Elizabeth's early reign in the 1950s. Over the years, we've seen major historical events, including a visit from the Kennedys at Buckingham Palace and the election of Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister. Season 6 will reportedly start out in the late 1990s with Princess Diana's tragic death and will end in the early 2000s when Prince William starts dating Kate Middleton at St. Andrews University.

First-look photos reveal that the show will also have moments of flashbacks, particularly with Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. And although the final season will take place in the 21st century, it has been confirmed that it will not continue into the present day.

It's also worth noting that Netflix recently teased the final season of The Crown on social media, and they gave a pretty big clue on what it will feature: The royal wedding between Prince Charles’ (now King Charles III) and Camilla Parker-Bowles (Queen Consort).

Who will play Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the cast?

The Crown's story of Queen Elizabeth will come to a close with Imelda Staunton. The Oscar-nominated actress, who's known for her roles in the Harry Potter franchise and the Downton Abbey film, joined the cast as the Queen in season 5 and she will continue in season 6. But that's not all: she'll be joined by actresses who previously took on the role, including Claire Foy and Olivia Colman. Netflix confirmed that they will be "reprising their roles for the final time." Plus, Viola Prettejohn is said to join the cast in a flashback as a young Elizabeth during World War II.
