First Look At The New Crankworx Rotorua Slopestyle Course

Slopestyle is a popular discipline for fans of mountain biking in which riders are judged on their ability to do tricks on a course.

The first major slopestyle event takes place in New Zealand at Crankworx Rotorua. Watch competitor Max Fredriksson preview the course on his YouTube channel.

In this video, Fredriksson walks and then rides the Rotorua slopestyle course. Though it is mostly the same as in prior years, they added multiple options for the start.

Crankworx Rotorua falls around March and is seen as the beginning of the season for Slopestyle. The world’s best riders travel to New Zealand to compete in the first event of the year. Watch Emil Johansson's winning run from a year ago below.

The Slopestyle competition at Rotorua will take place on Sunday, March 24th, but riders are already training to memorize the course.

Excitingly this is the first season that women will compete at the highest level of Crankworx. Tune in on Sunday to watch the first-ever integrates slopestyle event. Read more about this change below.
