There’s just something about Holiday movies that make them a little bit better than regular movies. Is it the surplus of (fake) snow? The fact that they make you want to bake? The heartwarming message at the end that’s supposed to remind us that friends and family are most important, and presents don’t matter? Whatever make them magic it works —and now add in a dash of Anna Kendrick, and that sounds like the perfect Christmas movie.

Way back in January of this year, it was announced that Kendrick would suit up, literally in a Santa suit, in Noelle — a story about Santa’s daughter (it was originally titled Nicole, but Noelle makes more sense, because #Christmas). After Santa, aka Noelle’s dad, retires, and her brother gets cold feet (get it, they’re at the NORTH POLE), she takes over gift-giving duties, because we can’t have another year without a Santa Clause.

Production has started — because ’tis the Halloween season — and Kendrick just shared the first photo of Noelle to Instagram. Serious question: Is it okay to purchase and wear her green ensemble, because that is some intense holiday outfit, and I have to own it.

It begins..... N O E L L E

This is literally everything we could ever want in a Christmas outfit, and more. The green dress, the matching patterned stockings, the green boots with white pom-poms. Know it’s cold in Santa’s neck of the woods, but this look is completely lit

The movie also stars two Bill(ys), Hader and Eichner. Supposedly, Hader is playing Kendrick’s brother, and dear SANTA, please let Eichner be an elf. The writer of Miss Congeniality, Marc Lawrence, is writing and directing the movie, so you know it’s going to have a lot of heart and also some girl power.

The only downside is that we’re so far away from seeing Noelle, as it’s currently scheduled to open on November 8th, 2019. Guess that means we’re going to have to be good for the next two years, because Noelle is probably watching.
