First Fridays return to Kansas City Crossroads

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — On the first Friday of every month from now until October, thousands of people from throughout the Kansas City metro area flock to the Crossroads neighborhood to celebrate its thriving art scene.

A beloved Kansas City tradition, First Fridays in the Crossroads Arts District see art galleries open their doors for visitors to explore.

Crossroads business owners still concerned about stadium potential

You can explore by KC Streetcar, car, bike or foot to experience the monthly event.

First Fridays officially begin at 5 p.m. and many galleries stay open until at least 9 p.m.

  • Leedy-Voulkos Art Center

  • Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art

There is also a large selection of food trucks on First Fridays. The First Friday Food Truck Plaza is in the parking lot between 19th and 20th streets and Grand Boulevard and McGee Street. Enter from 19th Street.
