Firefighters Hailed Heroes for Saving Lost Dog From California Storm Drain

The family feared they lost him forever.

For the past few weeks, California has been getting dumped on with what seems like endless rain, leading to evacuations, flooding and mudslides. One family in the San Bernardino area had a very close call during the storm, but thankfully first responders were quick to act.

This family's dog found a hole in the fence along the bypass and with one step, the dog was swept away by the rushing flood. Ugh, we can't imagine what was going through this family's mind when they saw this happen. But don't worry, there's a happy ending. Watch the full story posted by TikTok user @abc7la.

Wow! This is such an incredible story. We're so thankful for the fast-responding firefighters who were able to rescue this cutie. And we're blown away that the AirTag was able to help the firefighters track the dog down. Who knew technology could come in handy?!

"His little eyes," wrote @nellic1205. Ugh, we knew the family was scared but seeing his eyes in the storm drain broke us. He was so scared but thankfully, he's one smart pup. He somehow knew and managed to get himself into a storm drain, barking for help.
