This story contains light spoilers of Fire Country season 1.

Fire Country season 2 is officially here, and fans can't wait to see what happens to the folks at Cal Fire and Three Rock after quite an eventful inaugural season. Well, executive producer and star Max Thieriot spilled major tea about what's to come on the CBS drama, and it looks like it's going to bring all the heat.

Ahead of the show's February 16 premiere, the Bates Motel alum talked to TVInsider about his character Bode Donovan's development after lying about abusing drugs during his parole hearing to make sure his friend Freddy (W. Tre Davis) would be able to investigate substance abuse allegations at Three Rock. This decision sent Bode back to prison, shocking his loved ones as he was so close to becoming a free man after a five-year span in prison and the fire camp.

As Max explained to the outlet, given fans never saw Bode locked up ahead of the series premiere, season 2 will show people a side to the character that feels "edgier" then they'd expect.

"I think we get to see more of that prison Bode that we didn't really get to experience," he said in an Instagram video posted on February 6. "I think for Bode, obviously, it's hard to go from being in, to then pseudo being out, and then have to go back in... We get to see a little bit of that darker side, a little bit of that edge, and what having to survive, that prison instinct, looks like."

Given how the drama opened with Bode choosing to volunteer at Three Rock to serve out the remainder of his jail sentence, seeing the character in prison will give folks a sense at how he fared ahead of Fire Country's series premiere. Despite Bode's newly-hardened personality, the SEAL Team actor says folks will still see elements of him people originally loved — like his want to make amends with the ones he loves most in his life.

"[Bode] let down a lot of people, and I think he felt terrible about this difficult decision that he had to make and about what he told his parents," Max added. "Clearly, there’s a lot of making up to do and putting all the pieces back together really with everyone."

Well, with season 2 upon us, we can't wait to tune in and see how Bode makes it through this new drama!
