It's time to sound the alarms, Fire Country fans, because one of the cast members has some news to share that will certainly set your screens ablaze.

Viewers may only be a few episodes into season 2 of the hit CBS show, but it looks like we're about to get a lot more of Cal Fire and Three Rock in our future. In a surprise joint Instagram video posted between the drama's official account and Max Thieriot's (who plays Bode and is the series' co-creator and executive producer), new broke that the network officially renewed Fire Country for season 3.

What's more, the series nodded to its fiery plotline by announcing the news using a burn away cake — which displayed the show's logo before a lighter burned away the top layer to reveal the words, "renewed for a season 3" and a photo of the cast.

"Sometimes you really CAN have your cake and eat it too 🍰," read the official caption on March 12. "#FireCountry has officially been renewed for a SEASON 3 🔥."

Because Fire Country has built a huge following ever since its October 2022 TV debut, fans were ecstatic to learn more was on the way for Bode, his family and fellow inmates.

"Yay! Congrats to everyone on Fire Country, that's so well deserved 👏 🙌🏻," one person wrote on Instagram. "This series is a real gem! It's great that it has been renewed for a new season!🔥," another declared. "Best news ever 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥," a different viewer exclaimed.

While the news of Fire Country scoring a season 3 renewal is rather early, Deadline reported the procedural drama draws an average of 7.76 million viewers so far this season, with the show being one of the top 6 most streamed shows on Paramount+. The series also continues to build suspense, thanks to a cast which includes Max, Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway and Jules Latimer.

As for what's to come this season, the outlet noted in January that a promising storyline featuring Morena Baccarin as Mickey, a 15-year Sheriff's Deputy in Edgewater, is in the works. If this plot tests well with viewers, the publication noted it could potentially lead to a spinoff series, therefore expanding the franchise in the future.
