It's been a good year for musicals. Not only is Broadway expected to reopen in the fall, but a ton of your favorite shows are making their way to the big screen. On Tuesday, Universal released the first trailer for the highly anticipated movie adaption of the Tony-winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen.

The Politician's Ben Platt, who originated the role as Evan Hansen on Broadway (and won a Tony for his performance) will return as the titular character. He is also joined by Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Stenberg, Amy Adams, and Julianne Moore.

Dear Evan Hansen tells the story of Evan, an anxious and lonely high schooler who writes letters to himself on the advice of his therapist. When his classmate, Connor Murphy, takes one of these letters and dies by suicide with the note in his pocket, Connor's parents assume it's their son's last words, addressed to Evan. Evan goes with it, telling the Murphys he was friends with Connor and continuing the lie until it gets too big to handle.

Fans of the musical will be happy to see the movie seems to follow a very similar storyline to the original show, even including Evan's classic blue polo.

Dear Evan Hansen hits theaters on September 24th.
