Finally! We Have an Official Trailer and Release Date for ‘The Handmaid's Tale' Season 2

Blessed be the fruit! We finally have an official release date and trailer for The Handmaid's Tale season two.

The hit Hulu show, which scored Golden Globe wins for Best TV Series Drama and Best Actress in a Drama Series for Elisabeth Moss (aka Offred), will premiere April 25, 2018. The first two episodes will be available up-front, with each of the next 11 episodes (yep, 13 total, which is three more than season one) premiering every week on Wednesdays.

Now, back to this trailer. We have to warn you: It’s terrifying. Even Moss said so herself in an interview with The Pool: “Season two is going to be bad too, really dark—it’s going to get worse.” Woof.

In it, we see a glimpse of the Colonies (aka places filled with toxic waste where people are banished as punishment), Moira (Samira Wiley) and Luke (O.T. Fagbenle) in Canada, Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) sobbing in the dark and holding onto some sort of rope (could she possibly get what’s coming to her? Praise be!), Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) looking…not so full of joy, and tons more.

Needless to say, we’re counting down the days until April 25 (while perfecting our annunciation of “Nolite te bastardes carborundorum,” of course).
