We Finally Know Who Prince Louis's Godparents Will Be (Plus More Christening Details)
Little Prince Louis is soon to be christened, and we finally have all the details about his big day.
Kensington Palace just announced that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s youngest, born April 23, will have several godparents for his christening at the Chapel Royal in St. James’s Palace. His godmothers are Lady Laura Meade (a close friend of Middleton’s), Hannah Gillingham (a college friend of Middleton’s) and Lucy Middleton (the Duchess of Cambridge’s cousin), while his godfathers are Nicholas van Cutsem, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher and Guy Pelly (all good friends of Prince William).
Also confirmed to attend baby Louis’s baptism into the Church of England: Prince Charles and Camilla, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Kate’s parents, Pippa Middleton and her husband, James Matthews, and their youngest brother, James Middleton. The queen and Prince Philip will not attend the christening of their youngest great-grandchild.
The palace says Louis will wear a replica of the royal christening gown that was made in 1841 (no wonder they needed to make a replica) created by the queen’s very own dressmaker. After the baptism, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will serve christening cake, which is actually a tier taken from their wedding cake (and frozen for the past seven years as is tradition and which the parents also followed for George and Charlotte’s christenings).
Frozen or not, just save us a slice of the royal cake, please.
