We can finally hear Beyoncé sing in The Lion King, and sorry, Elton John, but this is our new everything

Sorry, Elton John — we might like this new version better than the original. Beyoncé and Donald Glover finally show off their singing skills in the latest "Lion King" trailer, and our lives have been changed for the better.

It was only a matter of time until we heard a snippet from the soundtrack of the upcoming Lion King remake. It’s finally here, and Beyoncé sounds like an angel—obviously. On Thursday, June 20th, Disney dropped the latest mini-trailer for the upcoming CGI-reimagining of its 1994 classic animated film The Lion King. In this 30-second clip, we finally hear Donald Glover, who voices Simba, and Beyoncé, who voices Nala, croon “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” And that 30 seconds was all we needed to know that The Lion King is about to become the movie of the summer.

Sorry, Elton John—who composed and performed the Academy Award-winning song for the 1994 version—you have officially been upstaged.

But we don’t know how Sir Elton John could be mad at the buttery harmonies Bey and Glover put into his work. It’s a glorious rendition. Check it out below:

Needless to say, fans are flipping out having finally heard Queen Bey and Childish Gambino vocally tag-team to reproduce one of the most nostalgic songs from our childhoods.

Let’s be honest with ourselves. We love Donald Glover, and he’ll be amazing in this film. But truthfully…this isn’t about him.

But it is a little about him, we suppose.

Can this please be the start of something great…? PLEASE?

Beyoncé and Glover join a stacked cast, including James Earl Jones (Mufasa), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), Billy Eichner (Timon), and Seth Rogan (Pumbaa). So, yeah, you could say we were born ready for this Lion King remake. The Lion King hits theaters July 19th, and you’ll want to pack (many) tissues. With voices like these, Bey and Don are going to bring the house to tears.
