Finally! Emojis for Curly Girls

Curly haired girls everywhere rejoice! Our curl empowering friends at Dove just launched the first ever Dove Love Your Curls Emojis Keyboard. With one in three women in the US having curly or wavy hair, it’s exciting to be able to show some diversity in the way we all talk to one another via texting and social media. “When you have a symbol that embodies someone’s identity, it’s powerful,“ says Sali A. Tagliamonte, professor of linguistics at the University of Toronto. "The new Dove Love Your Curls Emojis have the ability to empower curly women to be more themselves.” The keyboard contains 27 unique curly hair designs, 7 GIFs, and the ability to pick your own skin and hair colors.

I’ve personally stayed on top of the Dove’s Love Your Curls Campaign — from amazing studies, interesting guest spokespeople, and a platform that truly gives women of all hair types a voice, this is just the latest in a long line of good ideas. Now, we won’t hold our breath for the man bun emoji, but boy could I put that to use!
