So much news went down over the weekend that I hardly know where to begin, and I am not just talking about the very important news that is me taking several naps and eating pizza. But I obviously am talking about Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth ending their marriage mere months after their December 2018 wedding, not to mention the fact that Miley was spotted kissing Brody Jenner’s ex-girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter in Italy.

Miley and Kaitlynn certainly looked super coupled-up on this vacation, but you’re probably wondering exactly where their relationship stands. And apparently, it’s pretty casual for now.

A source tells People that Miley and Kaitlynn simply have some mutual friends (including Miley’s sister Brandi) and are “just having fun” together this summer while they vacation in Italy and live their best lives.

In other words, they’re not officially dating. Meanwhile, Miley has been busy clapping back at Brody for joking about holding hands with Liam on the beach. And speaking of Liam, he’s reportedly chilling in Australia with his brother Chris Hemsworth, and he responded to news of his split with Miley, telling the Daily Mail, “You don’t understand what it’s like.”
