Fill your Memorial Day weekend with music, parades and more

May 23—There's a whole lot to do this weekend so let's get right to it.

We're putting out a huge nerd alert bulletin for the New England Toy & Record Show happening Saturday in Kittery. More than 30 vendors will be selling toys, records, comic books and assorted collectible goodies. You can also get an autograph from Stephen Constantino who played Jabba the Hutt's Gamorrean guard in "Return of the Jedi."

For two days of live music with an option to camp, consider the Sandy River Music Festival in Farmington. The powerhouse lineup features Lady Lamb, Della Mae, Session Americana, The Wolff Sisters, The Court Jesters, Griffin William Sherry, The Ballroom Thieves, IMY2, The Chicken Street Band and Rigometrics.

Outdoor summer concert season is upon us, and it starts on Saturday with country singer Parker McCollum at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor. We've highlighted some of the biggest shows of the summer, including Goose at Thompson's Point in June, so start making plans.

If you decide to cruise up to Bangor this weekend, or on any other night this summer before attending a show at Maine Savings Amphitheater, we've got a few things you can do before the concert, like a drive-by of Stephen King's house.

Need even more ideas for what shows to see? We've got a mega list that includes shows happening well into fall. Don Campbell Trio will be at Vinegar Hill in Arundel on Friday, and Amos Lee at the State Theatre in Portland on Saturday.

Night Moves bakery in South Portland has whipped up a whipped feta sandwich that is TDF. Read all about it, then grab one for yourself before the season and sandwich selections change. Night Moves is open all weekend long, and its grab-and-go sandwiches are available from about 10:30 a.m.

We also want to make sure people know how Memorial Day is being observed in several cities and towns on Monday. Check out our roundup of parades and ceremonies.
