ORRTANNA, Pa. (WHTM) — The Adams County Winery was recently voted the Best Winery in the Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia Tristate area by Verstandig Media.

According to the Adams County Winery, Verstandig’s online contest ran throughout the month of February to early March and allowed participants to nominate their favorite businesses in a variety of categories which included the food & beverage industry, pet care companies, and community service organizations.

Following the nomination process, participants were then allowed to vote for their favorites.

“To be nominated for an award as prestigious as this one was an honor in itself, especially considering the number of amazing wineries in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia,” Dan Baumgardner, General Manager of Adams County Winery said. “Our team works extremely hard to make sure our guests have memorable experiences, and our vineyard and winemaking team consistently produce high-quality products, so winning this is a testament to the dedication of our entire team.”

Some of the best nominated wineries in the tri-state area included Stone House Urban Winery, Red Heifer Winery, and the Adams County Winery.

The Adams County Winery, which is located at 251 Peach Tree Road, was first opened in 1975 and was taken over by Co-owners John Kramb and Katherine Bigler in 1998. Today, the local winery produces over 40,000 gallons of wine every year.

“None of this would be possible without our amazing visitors and case club members who voted us the #1 winery in the tri-state region,” Baumgardner added. “We are grateful for their support.”
