When tragedy strikes within the wine industry, the best of the best rally around each other to pick up their friends and loved ones, and find a way to use their network to offer help. Using loss as a way to make the world a better place is a common theme in wine country around the world, and that hit close to home at Fess Parker Winery when Huntington’s disease claimed the life of Winery President Tim Snider’s father earlier this year. Tim is the husband of Ashley Parker Snider, daughter of the late Fess Parker, Founder of the winery and famous actor. Fess, known for his leading work in the Walt Disney television miniseries Davy Crockett as well as the television series Daniel Boone, made Santa Barbara County wine country not only his home but his business headquarters.

Fess Parker Winery’s HelpCureHD bottling is a re-release of the acclaimed 2018 vintage of The Big Easy red blend, which received 93 points from renowned critic Antonio Galloni of Vinous. The blend is comprises of 57% Syrah, 24% Petite Sirah, and 19% Grenache, the majority of which is grown on the SIP Certified Rodney’s Vineyard on the Fess Parker Home Ranch.

The label only adds to the wine’s allure, featuring original artwork by artist Debra Frederick titled “Lifted.” The Fess Parker team discovered it during an “Art for Causes” fundraiser that benefited HelpCureHD. Debra’s art can be found and purchased at www.debfredart.com. The wine will be available for purchase beginning in November at fessparkerwineshop.com, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to HelpCureHD.

Huntington’s disease is a debilitating hereditary brain disorder with no known cure, impacting over 30,000 people in the United States alone. The disease causes a deterioration in nerve cells, complicating everyday tasks such as walking and talking, and eventually leads to severe impairment. Fess Parker Winery’s decision to support HelpCureHD is deeply personal.
