Fergie’s ‘Clumsy’ song has TikTok describing different types of intelligence: ‘I’m not smart’

If you’re notoriously coming to conclusions later than the people around you or refer to yourself as “street smart” rather than “book smart,” TikTok has just the sound for you.

Right now, TikTokers are using the chorus to pop star Fergie’s “Clumsy” to show the moment things start to click for them in their brains.

“You’re the slow friend in the friend group,” wrote @spencernitsos in his post.

As the trend shows, there are certain people that aren’t as quick to realize what’s going on in every friend group.

“It just takes a while to process but I get there in the end,” said @elviraorsmond1.

“Me at 3 am thinking of a comeback from 12 hours ago,” replied @_not_ur_girl_evelyn_.

It’s been 16 years since “Clumsy” was released, peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song continues to be popular on TikTok, as over 27,500 videos have been made with the sound.

However, some people aren’t slow; they’re just smart in different ways.

“POV you’re friends are math/science smart but you’re history/English smart,” said @survivorofsuburbia.

While plenty of people tried to qualify their intelligence, others just didn’t see it that way.

“I’m not smart,” joked @yourbestiepatrick.

This sound isn’t just for identifying the “slow friend” either. The late realizations happen to a wide range of people on TikTok.

“POV: You have pregnancy brain,” wrote @ashhhnicolee28.

There were several women that could fully sympathize with how her brain was working.

“I went to target today and forgot a comforter set I bought underneath the shopping cart and didn’t remember about it till hours later at home,” said @victoria1555.

Regardless of why your brain is working differently than the people around you, Fergie has a song to describe you.
