Women Made History at the 2021 Grammys

Women made history at the Grammys 2021, which happened Sunday, March 14. Let's just list everything major that happened, shall we?

Taylor Swift scored her third album-of-the-year Grammy for Folklore, making her the only woman to win that award three times. In her speech she thanked her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, and shouted out Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and their children. “Joe, who is the first person that I play every single song that I write,” she said. “I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine. I want to thank James, Inez, and Betty and their parents, who are the second people that I play every new song that I write.”

Beyoncé racked up 28 wins. She's now the most-awarded female artist in Grammys history.

The “Savage” remix by Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé took home the Grammy for Best Rap Performance, making it the first all-women collab to win in that category. “Rain on Me” by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande also made history as the first all-women collab to win for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Fans, naturally, are hyped over these milestones—as are the artists themselves. “MOTHER MONSTER WAKE UP @ladygaga !!!!!!??……… eternally, deeply grateful for u, for this experience, to have been a part of this song and this celebration of healing and recovery. grateful to be able to dance in the rain with u, to call u my dear friend, and to now share this. beyond thankful. congratulations queen, ti voglio bene,” Grande wrote on Instagram.

Megan also took to Twitter to share her excitement:

In response to Cardi B congratulating her, Megan wrote, “Thank you bardi. I can’t wait for everyone to see us kill it Tonight.” (Spoiler: They absolutely killed it tonight.)

“Love you, hotties,” Megan also tweeted, referring to the name of her fan hive.
