Step-by-step Directions

For each poinsettia flower, trace six of each petal size on a piece of felt. If you cut a long strip of felt that's the same height as the petal template and accordion fold the strip the width of the template, you can cut multiple petals at a time. Repeat to cut enough petals for 12 blooms.

Cut 48 6-inch floral wire pieces and 48 3-inch floral wire pieces. Hot-glue the 6-inch wire pieces to the center backs of the large petals with 3 inches of exposed wire at one end of each petal. Hot-glue the 3-inch pieces of wire to the center backs of the small petals with a 1-inch overhang. Bend all the wires slightly at the base of each petal to give them form.

Place six small petals together to form a flower shape. Use floral tape to attach the wires together. Form a flower from the medium-size petals around the smaller flower, alternating the petal placement to fill gaps. Secure the wire stems in place with floral tape. Repeat for the large petals. Complete the process for all 12 flower blooms.

Bend the stems of each flower around the wire wreath and secure the flowers in place with hot glue.

Use felt glue to secure mini pom-poms to the center of each flower.
