Lake Tahoe's Glen Plake, as seen in Greg Stump’s 1987 ski movie The Blizzard of Aahhhs (the film that later inspired other legendary skiers such as Shane McConkey), is a US National Ski Hall of Fame skier.

Two days ago, he posted a clip at neighboring Mammoth Mountain (no mohawk in sight, but blue hair galore) with some wise words we can all take to heart.

Plake announces to the camera that it's his first day, let's out a casual yew, and then explains why he's on the slopes.

"I always wonder if I can still do it. Fortunately, I can."

Still do it meaning bailing on the U.S. Ski Team to ski how he wanted, running away to Chamonix, France to avoid the law back home?

Still do it meaning rip moguls hard and fast?

Still do it meaning be a ski instructor and somehow still seem punk?

Still do it meaning shoot couloirs for Greg Stump with Scot Schmidt?

Watch the couloir sequence from The Blizzard of Aahhh's below.

The radical skier speaks what's on all of our jaded minds, saying "it's December. I don't really get that excited about early ski season 'cause there's never that much snow, but the skiing is dang good at Mammoth right now!"

That hurts a little bit as it rains today in Lake Tahoe, but we'll take it... Mammoth is in our range!

"It just feels good to not actually walk. It feels good to be able to just fly."

Huck yeah it does!
