A federal judge was killed in a hit-and-run by a Florida woman named Nastasia Snape who later told medics that she was Harry Potter, the police in Boca Raton said.

The police said Snape, 23, swerved onto the pavement and hit Sandra Feuerstein, 75, a New York judge, on Friday morning, The Palm Beach Post reported.

A 6-year-old boy was also injured but has been released from the hospital.

Snape fled but crashed at an intersection 5 miles north, the police said.

A police report said that when officers found Snape, she began "to convulse or have seizure-like movements," The Post reported.

When medics tried to transfer Snape to an ambulance, she "began to scream and fight with medics stating that she was 'Harry Potter,'" the police report said, according to The Post.

In the emergency room, officials found among Snape's possessions containers labeled "THC cannabis" and a drug called T salts, "commonly known to cause erratic excited delirium-like behavior," the police report said, according to The Post.

Snape initially told the police that she had been in a crash, but when she was asked about it, she said, "I wasn't in a crash," The Post reported.

Snape was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Saturday.

She has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving injury, leaving the scene of a crash involving death, and vehicular homicide, The Post said.

Feuerstein was a federal judge for the Eastern District of New York, appointed by President George W. Bush in 2003.
