FDA Recalls Great Value Cashews From Walmart Stores Across 30 States

Nuts are a fantastic healthy snack with tons of health benefits, but not if you’re allergic to them—or to other allergens that may be present in a can. A “limited amount” of Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews have been recalled by John B. Sanfilippo & Son Incorporated, the FDA announced on March 13.

These 8.25oz cans of cashews were recalled after undeclared coconut and milk were detected, posing a potential risk to consumers with allergies to these ingredients. Find all the details—including what to do if you have a can of these nuts in your home—below.

Honey Roasted Cashews Recalled At Walmart

John B. Sanfilippo & Son Incorporated is recalling Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews because they could contain undeclared allergens like milk and coconut. This recall follows a customer report that pointed out coconut cashews in the can of honey roasted cashews. The report led to an investigation that found that a number of honey roasted cashew labels had been placed on cans of coconut cashews.

These recalled products pose a potential life-threatening risk to consumers with allergies or sensitivities to coconut or milk.

These incorrectly labeled cans were sold online and at Walmart stores in 30 states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, and West Virginia.

Recalled products have a best by date of July 8, 2025 and a UPC code of 078742133348.

If you or someone in your household is allergic to coconut or milk and you bought one of these cans, the FDA urges you to discard the product or return the product to the place of purchase for a refund.
