I first learned about Sheertex — a brand that touts unrippable tights — on a walk around my neighborhood. I’d spotted a rather alarming advertisement on the side of a bus depicting a person wearing tights and holding scissors, pointy-side up, between their skin and the tights. This sort of intense demonstration of Sheertex’s supposed rip-resistance is one I’ve yet to road-test myself — though, after trying these tights and witnessing their resistance to my cats’ similarly sharp claws, my typically long talons, and my dry, sandpaper like heels (sorry), I reckon the scissor advertisement is accurate.

Considering their quality and longevity factors, Sheertex tights are, understandably, pricier than most pairs. For a limited time, however, you can shop Sheertex for roughly the same price as your average drugstore tights during the brand’s sitewide sale.

Sheertex tights are ludicrously durable, wonderfully size-inclusive, ranging from XS to 3XL, and perhaps the last pair of tights you’ll buy for the foreseeable future. In fact, I’d go as far as to call them unparalleled in the durability domain. You’ll wear them this season, next season, and likely for the many cold snaps in years to come, indulging in a fresh, run-free pair each time you slip them on. Made from a carefully engineered blend of nylon, Polyethylene, and Spandex, they last as advertised; InStyle even crowned Sheertex’s black tights the category’s best run-proof option.

Moreover, Sheertex stockings are remarkably comfortable; so comfortable, in fact, they’ve single-handedly disproved my lifelong belief that itchiness is a quality inherent to tights. I’ve worn mine for hours on end, with virtually zero awareness of their presence on my legs until I take them off at the end of the night.

Should black tights feel blasé, consider the brand’s host of less practical, more whimsical offerings, including a hot-pink homage to Barbie. My personal favorite: Glorious, glitter-infused stockings, which have carried entire outfits.

Sheertex also sells thigh-high stockings, which prove both sexy and practical. In addition to looking fantastic and resisting the dreaded thigh-slip, they’ve outlived every other pair in my lingerie drawer — each peppered with irreparable holes and ladders.

For absurdly comfortable, ludicrously durable tights that’ll carry you through this winter season and many to come: Snag a decidedly snag-proof pair (or two) from Sheertex. Heck, why not  stock up on stockings?
