If your food storage cabinet is a tangle of containers with no lids (and vice versa), we have two pieces of advice for you. First, clean it out to see if you can find any matches you didn’t realize you had, and discard all the mismatches. Second, head to Costco to buy the Pyrex glass storage container set that’s a favorite around here for its functionality.

You’ll likely make a Costco run to stock up on all your Thanksgiving food needs, including the fantastic under $10 deals on foods such as Swanson chicken broth and a 64-ounce jar of Hellman’s mayonnaise. Costco is also the place to grab bakery items such as its wildly popular pumpkin pie or the caramel apple mini cakes (that aren’t that mini!).

Since you’re already at Costco, head to the kitchen wares aisle and hunt down the Snapware Pyrex 18-piece glass food storage set. It’s currently on sale for $19.99 after a $5 rebate. You’ll get nine glass containers in various sizes with nine matching plastic snap-on lids that are dishwasher safe.

How to Get the Lowest Price on Costco’s Snapware Pyrex Set

When Costcohotfinds posted this deal on Instagram, one follower mentioned that the deal was $30.99 after $5 off, and that person wasn’t wrong. They were looking at the price for it on Costco’s website. This $19.99 deal is only in-store at the warehouse club. Order it from Costco online, and you’ll pay more.

A quick search for a similar 18-piece Snapware Pyrex online revealed current prices at Walmart for $44.99 and on Amazon for $46.62, so the Costco in-store price is an excellent deal for this durable food storage set.

What Kind of Pyrex Is Costco’s Snapware Set?

The video on Costcohotfinds’ Instagram post shows the words “pure pyrex glass” on the box, and the pyrex is written in all lowercase. That tells you something about what type of glass the storage containers are made from.

There’s a difference between PYREX and pyrex. Corning owns the brand and has licensed the names "PYREX" and "pyrex" to other companies. Corning licensed pyrex (lowercase) for the Costco storage containers. The lowercase pyrex is most likely made of soda-lime glass and does not handle high-heat cooking as well as PYREX. The uppercase version is most likely made of borosilicate, which is safer to use at higher temperatures, up to 425 degrees F (218 degrees C).

It’s best to read any information that comes with this Snapware Pyrex storage set (or any glass you buy with Pyrex, pyrex, or PYREX on it) to know how hot the glass can safely get.

This Costco set should be perfectly safe for storing leftovers in the refrigerator, but transferring the food to another heat-safe container is the “better safe than sorry” option for reheating in the microwave or stove.
