While we’re all for saving money at the grocery store, there are a few items that our readers splurge on. Among them are Rao’s Homemade pasta sauce and Kerrygold Butter. Kerrygold is an Irish butter, which has a slightly higher amount of butterfat than American butter (Irish butter must contain a minimum of 82 percent butterfat to be considered butter, whereas the American standard is 80 percent). More butterfat means a richer butter.

And while butter is, ahem, the brand’s bread and butter, that’s not all Kerrygold produces. It also has a line of spreadable flavored butters and cheeses. And just recently, the brand added a new product that makes the perfect on-the-go snack: Kerrygold Cheese Snacks.

What Are Kerrygold Cheese Snacks?

The new item basically takes two of Kerrygold’s most popular cheeses and puts them in a perfectly portioned, ready-to-eat format. The cheese sticks come in two flavors: Aged Cheddar and Dubliner. In a press release Aged Cheddar is described as “notable for its rich, rounded flavor, creamy taste and firm body” and Dubliner is described as a “mature Cheddar, with sweet nutty tones of a Swiss and a piquant bite of aged Parmesan.” Essentially, this is good stuff.

The best thing about the new product is its size. It’s easy to toss into a school lunchbox or grab on your way out the door before running errands. Kerrygold Brand Manager Alexandra Vinci said, "We're thrilled to now have a Kerrygold option for busy parents and kids, as well as all of the on-the-go snackers and brand fans alike."

The product comes with eight cheese sticks per pack, and it's rolling out to grocery stores across the country now at Wegman’s, Whole Foods, Giant Foods, and more. The biggest concern you’ll have with them is keeping enough stocked in the fridge for the family to enjoy—these cheese sticks aren’t just for kids!
