If you want to make real espresso drinks at home on a budget, the De'Longhi Stilosa will give you great coffee and steamed milk with a little practice.
This machine will help you turn out espressos, lattes, cappuccinos and a variety of other espresso-based drinks, and while it might not last forever, it’s a great entry point for the espresso-curious. Even if your home isn’t big enough to accommodate a coffee-shop-style espresso machine, the De’Longhi Stilosa shines even in small quarters thanks to its relatively small footprint. Everything is manual here (no automatic programming), including the milk frother, which serves up satisfaction with each perfect espresso you whip up. To froth the milk, you’ll need another 15 or 20 seconds to ramp up to steam mode.
Our tester noted that the machine heated up quickly when testing and shots of espresso were ready to be pulled in less than 60 seconds. You’ll need to prime the pump to move water through the system before pulling your first shot. But after getting the hang of the machine, it was easy to pull continuous shots.
