Magic is coming to Netflix thanks to season 2 of Fate: The Winx Saga. Alfea has changed a lot since season 1, and Bloom and her fairy friends are going to deal with it.

It's a great time for fantasy with shows on Netflix like The Sandman, Shadow and Bone, and The Witcher. But there's something so nice about how light and YA Fate: The Winx Saga is. Sure, there's danger and drama galore... but it's also about friendship and boyfriends and girlfriends and boarding school and cottagecore vibes.

Are you already asking questions about another season? Here's everything we know about the potential Fate The Winx Saga season 3.

Is Fate: The Winx Saga season 3 happening? Did Netflix renew it?

Unfortunately, the show won't be back for a third season. Creator Brian Young confirmed the news on Instagram with a post writing, "Netflix have decided not to move forward with Season Three of Fate: The Winx Saga. This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season It's a heartbreaking silver lining, but a silver lining all the same."

"I'm so proud of everyone who worked on the show, and so happy we got to tell the stories we did. Our cast and crew put in a ton of hard work creating this world and these characters," he continued. "I'm grateful for each and every one of them, and for all of you for watching. It's been an amazing four years! Hopefully, we'll see each other again in the future!"

What was season 3 going to be about?

The season two finale ended with Bloom heading over to the Realm of Darkness where she reunites with her birth mother. Of course, Sky and the rest of the group would try to find a way to bring her back to Alfea while also dealing with the aftermath of Rosalind's death and Queen Luna's continued presence at the school.

During a set visit that Cosmopolitan got to attend, Brian Young revealed plans for the show's future.

“Alfea will always be our home,” Brian noted. “As we start to broaden the world out, it’s always going to be important that this remains our touchstone.”

He also revealed that they had a set plan for the show's end, especially since the show primarily takes place in Alfea.

“There is a sort of limit where these characters will eventually age out. So finding a limit to this part of the story is important to me. If the show were to continue on, [we have to ask ourselves] how can we evolve this story in a new way while still feeling like there is a beginning, a middle, and an end to this story we started telling in season 1?”

Who was set to return for season 3?

Unless something else was set to happen, Bloom (Abigail Cowen), Stella (Hannah van der Westhuysen), Aisha (Precious Mustapha), Musa (Elisha Applebaum), Flora (Paulina Chávez), and Terra (Eliot Salt) were all believed to be coming back. Some characters could have returned if they were played different actors. That happened between the first two seasons; Miranda Richardson and Daniel Betts joined the series in season 2 playing characters that were introduced in season 1.
