'Fast Grass'- East Coasters Log First Ski Day Of The Season

There's a comical phrase used by the skiing community to describe when it snows just enough for skis to slide, but not quite enough for it to be safe -- 'fast grass'.

Fast grass isn't for the faint of heart. Rocks, dirt, mud, and other less-than-slippery surfaces are waiting to end your season before it even starts.

Check out the clip below of skiers Adam Kruszyna, Matt Scheeler, and Stan Plewak making their first turns of the season at an undisclosed location in the Northeast. Video uploaded 10/31/23:

It's worth mentioning again that skiing in these conditions is extremely dangerous.

While it certainly looks like Kruszyna and friends had a blast, they are took an extreme risk to ski on such little snow. Please keep that in mind if you choose to ski in similar conditions in the future.

With that said... are we surprised? Are we actually surprised that a group of east coasters went skiing when there's only 2-3 inches of snow on the ground?

You shouldn't be.

'Ice coast' skiers will ski literally anything as long as they're sliding downhill. That's what living through years of sub-optimal conditions will do to a person.

Bravo to Kruszyna and friends for making the most of it and coming out relatively unscathed.
