In January, it was announced that Dua Lipa will co-chair the gala alongside Wintour, Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, and Roger Federer. "The 2023 Met Gala celebrates the opening of 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty' and provides The Costume Institute with its primary source of annual funding for exhibitions, publications, acquisitions, operations, and capital improvements," Dua's Instagram announcement reads.

The 2023 Met Gala is set to take place on Monday, May 1 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
What is the 2023 Met Gala theme?
According to Vogue, the theme for the 2023 Met Gala is "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty." The theme will honor the legacy of the late designer who was at the helm of fashion houses like Chanel, Fendi, Chloé, Balmain, and, of course, his own brand, Karl Lagerfeld.
The coinciding exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art will be open to the public starting May 5, 2023. Per Vogue, Andrew Bolton, the Costume Institute’s Wendy Yu Curator in Charge, and creative consultant Amanda Harlech will curate the exhibition with 150 looks that represent the designer's iconic career dating back to 1955.
