Fashioning a Fundraiser

The October 26 gala at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas might have been held to celebrate the new exhibition Fashioning America: Grit to Glamour, but the evening was far more glamorous than it was gritty.

More than 450 guests—including Christy Turlington Burns, Jeremy O. Harris, Ruben Toledo, Norman Lear, and Lizzie Tisch, among others—made their way to the museum for the event, which was chaired by Derek Blasberg, Karlie Kloss, Tommy Hilfiger, Hank Willis Thomas, and Olivia Walton in honor of Crystal Bridges’ first-ever fashion exhibition.

After a day of programming (including panels and artists talks) helmed by Crystal Bridges and the CFDA, the evening gave guests a chance to don their finest and celebrate—though they did a bit of fundraising as well. The event brought in more than $2 million to fund arts education.
