Q: What designer worked in K-pop before cementing their place in the American fashion industry (in no small part by dressing musicians)?

Scroll down for the answer...

A: Mike Amiri.

Before launching his widely beloved clothing line, Amiri, and dressing some of the biggest musicians in the world (including members of BTS), the designer performed with a Korean hip-hop group.

"One of my best friends was a rapper and musician. I wrote songs with him. He ended up being considered the founder of the K-pop hip-hop movement," he told Fashionista in a 2018 interview.

Amiri is credited as a member of Drunken Tiger on the group's Wikipedia page. "It's strange, but I'm happy that's a part of my history," he said.
