There are no limits to the love Tony Dokoupil and Katy Tur have for one another. So much so that both of them got their own bouquet of flowers to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

It all began on February 13 when Katy stepped out of their Brooklyn home with the couple’s 2-year-old son, Teddy. (Tony and Katy also share a 9-month-old daughter named Eloise.) According to the CBS Mornings coanchor, he had a hunch that the MSNBC reporter was up to something but didn’t know what. Ultimately, he was caught off-guard when Katy returned with two bunches of flowers and handed one to him. Luckily, Tony caught the heartwarming moment on video and shared it with fans on Instagram.

“Oh, my god. Happy Valentine’s Day!” Tony said in the clip as he opened the door. “I got you flowers! I got you flowers! Because you know what? F the patriarchy, man,” Katy said.

The next day, Tony recounted Katy’s sweet gesture to his fellow CBS Mornings costars Gayle King and Nate Burleson, who couldn’t help but gush over their modern romance. “She went out yesterday and I had a feeling she was going to do something a little funny. She came with flowers,” he said on the show.

After hearing about the heartfelt surprise, fans immediately flooded Tony's Instagram comments section with heart emojis and kind messages for the married couple. “Y’all every time get me teary with joy. So glad y’all have each other ❤️,” one person wrote. “How sweet! I’m with your wife, ‘F the patriarchy.’ Enjoy the flowers. 🌹,” another added. “I love these two so much it hurts! 😍,” a different fan said.

What’s more, Tony and Katy joined The Talk cohostsSheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots, Jerry O'Connell, Akbar Gbajabiamila and Natalie Morales — later that same day to go down memory lane about how their love story began. As folks may know, the duo first met in 2015 when they both worked at MSNBC. Katy was in the middle of makeup and hair when Tony walked into the makeup room. According to Katy, she asked Tony out via email after he smiled at her in the hallway and followed her on Twitter.

Though it seemed like a spontaneous love affair, it turns out that Katy’s mom had picked out Tony for her months before they met. (Her mom had heard Tony on the radio talking about his memoir, The Last Pirate, in which he opened up about discovering his dad was involved in a drug operation.) But Katy wasn’t on the same page for several reasons, including having a boyfriend at the time and not catching Tony’s name.

“She called me one day out of the blue ... and she said ‘I found the guy you’re gonna marry,’” Katy said retelling her mom’s words.

After brushing this conversation aside, Katy and Tony coincidentally met, and the rest is history. (Watch above at 3:09 to learn how that happened!) As for the flowers she gave her husband, Katy shared that he simply deserved them. “Men should get flowers too. You’re beautiful. You’re pretty, and I love you.”
