Fans Wanted Winter Olympian To Produce "More Ski Content," So He Cut His Skis In Half

Another day, another tongue-in-cheek video from the once buttoned-up Olympic skier Nick Goepper.

This time, Goepper's fans wanted "more ski content," so he did the obvious thing and gave it to them by cutting his skis in half.

One commenter on this video wondered why Goepper would do such a thing. "Never did it before," Goepper wrote in response. I can't argue with that. If I regularly received free skis, the thought would eventually cross my mind, too.

In case you missed it, Goepper—previously one of the best slopestyle competitors to ever do it—announced his retirement from professional skiing last winter.

And until August of last year, his Instagram still looked like most other professional skiers'—skiing-focused, pretty surface level, generally to the point aside from the occasional goofy moment, like this gem.

Then, late in the summer, he began uploading silly and surprisingly honest videos on Instagram, catching the ski world slightly off guard. It wasn't easy to parse out what was and wasn't satire at first.

Now, Goepper's fully bullish on this new mode of self-presentation and, as you may have noticed, successfully competing in a new discipline: halfpipe.

Earlier this winter, he claimed his first halfpipe podium at Mammoth Mountain, California, with a third place. Oh, and he did it wearing jeans.
