From Woman's Day

Fans of The Masked Singer were introduced to the sultry — and dare we say, sassy — Black Widow during the second episode of the new season. Though the clues in its first appearance did little to clarify the celebrity's identity (they rarely do, after all), the judges and fans were in agreement by the Nov. 6 episode. And their theory was soon put to the test after the Black Widow was voted off the show that night.

Who Is the Black Widow on The Masked Singer?

On Nov. 6, it was revealed that the celebrity behind the Penguin mask was actress Raven Symone — someone fans believed was behind the mask since day one.

And who were we to question this theory? Symoné was born in Atlanta, Georgia, giving merit to the peach photos that appeared in the first clue video. She is also currently staring in "Raven's House" on Disney Channel, which is where the house hint comes into play. She also starred in a number of movies, including Cheetah Girls, which showcased her vocal skills.

After the Black Widow's second performance, fans were still very much on the Symoné beat, continuing to guess that the singer was her under that mask. Judge Robin Thicke agreed that it could be Symoné as well. The clues continued to point to someone who was a child star who had to have a "squeaky clean" image growing up — like someone who was a Disney Channel star. The person also never went to prom but "pretended to" — like on a TV show. Both of those clues still fit with Symoné.

After the next performance, McCarthy, Scherzinger, and Thicke were all team Symoné. And the new clues continued to line up with her as well — especially the revealing item. As an extra clue, the Black Widow brought an item along with her for the judges. It was whipped cream and crackers. Fans on Twitter were quick to point out that Symoné did commercials for Cool Whip and Ritz crackers as a child.

After learning that she had been voted off, the Black Widow took off her mask, proving that the fans and judges were right. As someone who has grown up performing, Symone said that this was a great opportunity because it would, "be awesome if I don’t have to see anybody and they don’t have to see me."

Many were happy to see the singer show her face, even if it meant that she would no longer be on the show.
