Taylor Swift surprised fans with her big announcement about Red (Taylor's Version), but it looks like we actually shouldn't have been shocked since she might have hinted at it before — with the help of a friend.

Fans of Olivia Rodrigo are thinking back to a recent interview where the singer revealed that Taylor sent her a ring that is similar to one that she had during her Red era.

"Last night — like literally 12 hours ago — I got a package from her with this handwritten note," Olivia previously revealed back in March while on SiriusXM. "She gave me this ring because she said she wore one just like it when she wrote Red and she wanted me to have one like it."

In the new album cover for Red (Taylor's Version), Taylor is seen wearing a similar ring that's been slightly changed. While Olivia and Taylor's original version of the ring said "love," this new version says "red" for the album's name.

Fans on Twitter can't help but wonder if it was a coincidence or just another one of Taylor's easter eggs as they awaited news about the upcoming re-release.

Olivia previously helped preview some songs for Taylor's Fearless (Taylor's Version) with BFF Conan Gray, so it wouldn't be too farfetched for her to hint at this as well.

Before Taylor revealed her next album, many fans believed that the next album was going to be a 1989 re-release thanks to brand new merchandise that was sold on her shop.

Some fans are wondering if the ring means that there will be a new duet between the two singers in the new album and we're definitely crossing our fingers for that. Unfortunately, we're going to have to wait until November 19 to find out if it's true or not.
