Fans Think Jennifer Lopez Had Plastic Surgery After Seeing Early Career Photos

The internet has had a lot of thoughts about Jennifer Lopez‘s appearance for many years now, and the speculation that she has had cosmetic surgery doesn’t seem to be going away! Fans have wondered if the 54-year-old Shotgun Wedding actress’s appearance is down to more than just olive oil, beauty sleep, cutting out alcohol, and using her JLo Beauty products, all of which she has credited for her age-defying glow in the past. And before and after pictures that have been shared on social media – as well as ones we have put together ourselves – seem to raise a lot of questions!

Although the “Pa Ti” singer has always denied having plastic surgery, there are more than a few side-by-side pictures from her early career to the present day which show some subtle differences in her appearance. They make it clear why fans have wondered whether she has gone under the knife, or at the very least, had some non-invasive cosmetic procedures over the years.

On June 21st, the @Beauty.False Instagram account shared some pictures of celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, and Avril Lavigne, among others, showing side-by-side comparisons of their older and more recent faces to let fans decipher whether or not they think they have had work done. J-Lo's appearance was also analyzed on the @surgeonmade_curves Instagram account on February 4th this year, with the caption for its post saying: "We can’t deny that plastic surgery, make-up, fillers and/or Botox had a hand in her aging gracefully."

Fans seemed to be divided in the various comments sections, however. Many fans agreed that the Hustlers star is one of the more natural celebs (and they couldn't deny how incredible she looks at 54!) and thought her flawless social media pictures are simply down to over-editing, as she looks more natural (and plastic-surgery-free) in real life and on the red carpet. Others were definitely convinced that the "On My Way" singer has gone under the knife at least once, with a nose job being one of the things her fans thought she may have had done.

As well as the alleged rhinoplasty, fans were also convinced she has had things like Botox and fillers in recent years, not to mention a lot of help from heavy Instagram filters and photo editing apps to make her pictures pop even more! Any comments about J-Lo going under the knife are pure speculation, of course, but we're always interested to hear what social media thinks!

"A celebrity lying about having plastic surgery? I don’t believe it," quipped one fan on Instagram, adding, "What are you gonna tell me next? That Kim K has had work done?" followed by the crying laughing emoji. "If you look at her nose when she played Selena you can see an even more noticeable difference," commented another fan who thought that J-Lo definitely had a nose job in the past. "Everybody in Hollywood has had a nose job... it's like a prerequisite," said another.

"My friend's dad used to go to high school with her in the Bronx. And he showed me her school pictures and she looks VERY different. Nose job is undeniable," said another. "Don’t be fooled by the nose job that I got I’m still Jenny from the block," commented another fan, as another disappointed fan said: "Wish celebs could just be honest about their work."

"All this tells me that JLo it’s not olive oil, it’s Photoshop," wrote one fan on Instagram, in reference to her infamous olive oil comment. "I was such a fan until the olive oil incident. It actually broke my heart. Have absolutely not one ounce of respect or admiration for her after that," said another. Many other fans, however, praised the "On The Floor" singer's present-day appearance…

"As much as everyone criticizes JLo, she looks amazing and she doesn’t seem to have Botox or fillers," one fan commented, adding, "Or if she does, it’s just a tiny bit. I’m sure she does other treatments, but she’s still one of the most natural looking celebs." "Other than her eyebrows, makeup and normal aging, she looks almost the same. I’m sure she has had fillers but she definitely looks very natural, especially compared to most stars her age," commented another fan, to which one replied, "and the nose jobs."
